Atkins gets a well-deserved 1000% percent raise and talk of Hawpe about to locked in too. Awesome.
Fuentes talk will likely go to arbitration though (where it should be) because the old fool is asking for waaaay waaay too much for being just about over the hill. Yes, I'm going to go on record as saying that keeping Fuentes on for more than $5 mill will end up being a mistake for the Rox. I think he showed signs of 'headcaseness' near the end last season due to being nervous as all hell that the youngster Corpas will totally replace him. Well I, like most true Rox Nation fans, am thrilled about Corpas and would gladly take him over Fuentes any day of the week. Fuentes sees the writing on the wall and so is going to use his 'twice an All-Star' leverage now to man-handle the Rox into doing well over $6 mill.
Who knows I could be totally wrong on Fuentes. We'll see.
