Word from 9News sports anchor, Drew Soicher, is that Todd Helton hit a homerun during BP yesterday that landed in the 'Friday's' restaurant in left field there at Chase Field. What is the distance of the restaurant from homeplate you ask? 500+ feet.
After hearing this and after seeing Helton bat 1-for-12 against the Phonies I think it's safe to say that he's due and due soon in a big big way.
We'll see. Game 1 starts in less than 2 hours.
Mendoza's 5280.

great blog by the way. but there's no way helton hit an oppo-bomb 500 ft. MAYBE pulled one 450, but 500 opposite field.
I had the same thought here... unless Helton turned his body 90 degrees so the shot to left was still a pull...
Ya, wifey said she heard sports guy say 'Holliday', which would make more sense especially since he hit a foul-ball against the Phonies in Phonies-land out of the ballpark (then again that is a smallish ballpark). Nonetheless, I still think I heard Helton. Perhaps it's wishful thinking for the old-timer.
